Spinal decompression
Only available at Saint-Basile-le-Grand's clinic (Fridays) **
What is spinal decompression ?
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive and non-surgical treatment designed to stretch the spinal column in a controlled manner in order to create a separation between vertebrae to release the damaged and injured discs.
This new treatment option that has been clinically proven uses a device to apply a distraction force allowing a smooth separation of the vertebrae, in order to release the nerves that could be compressed in case of bulging discs, herniated discs and disc degeneration.
A negative pressure is created, generating a vacuum in the targeted disc and a “rehydration” of the compressed discs and a reduction (resorption) of the herniated disc or discs becomes possible. This unwinding movement occurs at a very minor scale with each treatment, but cumulatively for a period between one to two months.
Is it effective for all kinds of back pain ?
Spinal decompression is unfortunately effective only in specific cases (disc bulging, herniated discs, spinal disc degeneration and facets syndromes).
What are the instruments used ?
The instruments used are Spinemed’s spinal decompression tables, which is the world’s leader in spinal decompression.
